Napoleon Hill is arguably one of the most recognized inspirational writers of all time. His book, Think and Grow Rich, is the defining tome on self-actualization. An interesting technique that Mr. Hill describes in his book is called "The Invisible Counselor," in which he claims almost magical qualities to a form of meditation that might be considered controversial in some circles, yet quite clear and engaging in others.
The technique involves imagining a conversation with anyone at all that might provide sage advice to one of life's problems. For example, I have been struggling with the issue of how to express myself publicly, perhaps through public speaking, perhaps otherwise, so as to move away from working at my computer, devoid of social contact. This is difficult to do because I also need an income. Also, I want to expand my knowledge of music, especially classical music. My Invisible Counselors might involve the Dalai Lama (for advice on "centering", following the flow).
Watch this video. It is engrossing.
